Montesinos López Universitat Politècnica de València Keywords: computer terminology, Catalan, Spanish, terminology formation mechanisms, terminology teaching and learning Abstract In this paper we present a descriptive and contrastive study of computer terminology in the Catalan and Spanish languages. The study is based on the respective English terms since it has the didactic purpose of improving the multilingual terminological skills of university computer engineering students. We arrange the computer vocabularies of the three languages on the basis of the most common term formation resources with the aim to facilitate their learning for students.
