Since this field has always been associated with translation studies, here we consider for the first time how terminology has developed scientifically from the sphere of linguistics. Author Biography Miguel Casas Gómez, Universidad de Cádiz Doctor en Filologia Hispànica amb premi extraordinari de llicenciatura i doctorat, és catedràtic de Lingüística General a la Universitat de Cadis. Director de l'Instituto Universitario de Investigación en Lingüística Aplicada i investigador principal del grup de recerca Semaínein. Becari Humboldt (Universitat de Heidelberg), ha estat professor visitant en diverses universitats i ha dirigit projectes i contractes d'investigació i transferència rellevants. Entre les seves publicacions, destaquen els llibres La interdicción lingüística, Contribución al estudio del léxico eufemístico/disfemístico (Premi Conde de Cartagena de la RAE) o Las relaciones léxicas, i nombrosos articles en revistes internacionals de prestigi.
