The term norm in Catalan and Spanish dictionaries

Abstract

This paper is a study of the term norm, in the sense of linguistic norm, in normative and descriptive dictionaries of Catalan and Spanish. The main goal is to obtain clues that give us information about the dictionaries' concept of norm. This is achieved by studying the definitions proper and the occurrences of the term in the lexicographic articles.

Alba Coll és doctora en Comunicació Lingüística i Mediació Multilingüe per la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). És membre del Grup IULATERM i de l'Observatori de Neologia a l'Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada (IULA) de la UPF. Centra la seva recerca en els àmbits de la lexicografia, la terminologia i la neologia. És tutora i professora del màster online de Terminologia, en les seves edicions en castellà i en anglès (IULA-IDEC). Ha estat professora del Departament de Traducció i Ciències del Llenguatge de la UPF. Ha guanyat el Premi Institut d'Estudis Catalans de Lexicografia i Onomàstica Joan Coromines 2014 per la seva tesi
