Abstract

Is There a Term to Describe Measurement and Identification at the Same Time?

This article explores some denominative proposals for a term that means both the action of measuring quantities (quantitative properties) and the action of identifying nominal properties (qualitative properties), activities that are carried out simultaneously in many scientific and technological laboratories and for which there is no internationally-recommended term.

Xavier Fuentes Arderiu, Consultor en ciències de laboratori clínic

Xavier Fuentes Arderiu és doctor en Farmàcia per la Universitat de Barcelona i especialista en anàlisis clíniques i en bioquímica clínica. Des de l’any 2012 és consultor independent en ciències de laboratori clínic i actua en diverses organitzacions nacionals i internacionals de normalització de la terminologia científica. Ha estat director científic del Laboratori Clínic de l’Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge.

Àngels Egea Puigventós, Serveis Lingüístics de la Universitat de Barcelona

Àngels Egea Puigventós és llicenciada en Filologia Catalana per la Universitat de Barcelona i màster en Lingüística Computacional. Des de l’any 1995 és responsable de terminologia dels Serveis Lingüístics de la Universitat de Barcelona. Ha treballat en el projecte del Corpus Informatitzat de la Llengua Catalana de l’Institut d’Estudis Catalans i en l’actualització del diccionari normatiu.
