It thus examines the correlation between the use of sociolinguistic terminology and ideology on the premise that the use of this terminology has connotations that go beyond mere expert knowledge. Author Biography Josep Àngel Mas Castells, Universitat Politècnica de València Josep Àngel Mas Castells és doctor en Filologia per la Universitat de València (2007). El seu camp de recerca s'inscriu en la sociolingüística de la variació, especialment en l'anàlisi de les connotacions ideològiques de l'ús de determinades variants formals en la comunitat lingüística valenciana. Sobre aquest tema ha publicat, a més de diversos articles apareguts en revistes especialitzades, El morfema ideològic. Una anàlisi crítica dels models de llengua valencians (2008). És professor del Departament de Lingüística Aplicada de la Universitat Politècnica de València. En el vessant més divulgatiu, és coautor del Manual de llenguatge tècnic (2009), del Diccionari de dubtes del català oral (2010) i del Llibre d'estil per als mitjans audiovisuals en valencià (2011).
