Authors Gloria Guerrero Ramos Universidad de Málaga Manuel Fernando Pérez Lagos Universidad de Málaga Keywords: neology, specialized neologisms, compound words, vulgarized terms Abstract Are Non-native Compound Words the Most Productive Method for Creating Neologisms at Present?In this study we seek to show that non-native compound words, almost exclusively a phenomenon in the formation of specialized neologisms or neonisms, have little by little been gaining ground on native compound words as a process that is also used for the formation of neologisms belonging to ordinary language; and that this phenomenon has suffered a process of vulgarization, in the same way as the one experienced by specialized neologisms when they are popularized, without as a result losing their own specialized condition. És membre del grup de recerca Vernáculo Urbano Malagueño (VUM), i forma part de la Red de Observatorios de Neología del Castellano (NEOROC).
