Abstract

The lexicographical handling of appreciative suffixation in Catalan

The representation of appreciative affixation in general language dictionaries is a real challenge for lexicographers, since lexical items of this type show special features in which pragmatic factors marked by the communicative situation and the speakers are involved. In this paper we present the treatment received by suffixes whose use entails pragmatic connotations in different Catalan lexicographical works, in order to determine how these appreciative values are applied.

Martí Freixas Cardona, Universitat Pompeu Fabra

Martí Freixas és graduat en Traducció i Ciències del Llenguatge (2016) i màster en Estudis del Discurs: Comunicació, Societat i Aprenentatge (2017) per la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), on actualment cursa el programa de doctorat en Traducció i Ciències del Llenguatge, amb una tesi centrada en la sufixació apreciativa en català. Les seves línies d'interès principals són la neologia, la lexicografia i la morfopragmàtica, i ha impartit assignatures de terminologia i ús comparat catalàespanyol al Departament de Traducció i Ciències del Llenguatge de la UPF. Col·labora en projectes dels grups de recerca InfoLex i IULATERM de la mateixa universitat.
