Neoclassical compounding: a theoretical-descriptive study Authors Ivan Solivellas Universitat Pompeu Fabra Keywords: morphology, neoclassical compounding, neology Abstract This article aims to analyse neoclassical compounding as a word-formation process from a theoretical and descriptive perspective, paying special attention to the changes produced as a result of the trivialization of combining forms in the general language. For this reason, we will focus on semantic and morphosyntactic changes of some combining forms and we will analyse the productivity of the word-formation process and its mechanisms.
