Abstract

In this paper we deal with the relationship between terminology and the dynamics of Catalan society from the standpoint of the analysis of a corpus of loan words in the subject field of food and gastronomy. The corpus is one that contains standardized Catalan terms.

Montserrat Serra Figueras, TERMCAT

Montserrat Serra Figueras és llicenciada en Filologia Catalana per la Universitat de Barcelona i màster en Lingüística Aplicada per la mateixa universitat. Ha treballat a l'Institut d'Estudis Catalans en el projecte del Diccionari del català contemporani i en la primera edició del diccionari normatiu DIEC. Des de 1994 treballa al Centre de Terminologia TERMCAT, on ha coordinat un gran nombre de projectes terminològics i s'ha especialitzat en la terminologia de l'àmbit de les ciències socials i també de l'alimentació i la gastronomia. És autora d'articles i comunicacions sobre diversos aspectes del treball terminològic. També és membre del Consell de Redacció de la Revista de Llengua i Dret.
