Sobre la falta de referència lexicogràfica normalitzada en la terminologia musical per al català Authors Elisenda Bernal Universitat Pompeu Fabra Andreu Gallén Músic Keywords: music, loanwords, dictionaries, translation Abstract About the Lack of Standard Lexical Reference in Musical Terminology for Catalan The absence of a specialized dictionary of music in Catalan leaves general dictionaries, mainly DIEC 2 and GDLC, as the only reference source. These dictionaries clearly fall short of the needs that arise from translation (or editing), a process which highlights the difficulty in expressing the meaning of a text in another language, and which requires a knowledge of the subject matter which the translator often lacks. In this article we present an analysis of the musical terms that can be found in DIEC 2 and in four other specialized dictionaries, paying special attention to the typology of the loanwords included in them, as well as to the description of the thematic areas they cover. Author Biographies Elisenda Bernal, Universitat Pompeu Fabra Elisenda Bernal és llicenciada en Filologia Catalana per la Universitat de Barcelona (1994) i doctora en Lingüística per la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2000) És professora lectora a la Facultat de Traducció de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Com a membre del grup InfoLex i de l’Observatori de Neologia d’aquesta universitat, centra la seva recerca en els àmbits de la morfologia, la neologia i la lexicografia. Andreu Gallén, Músic Andreu Gallén és pianista i director musical. Graduat per l’Esmuc (2011) i postgraduat en lied al Koninklijk Conservatorium de Brussel·les (2013), becat per la Generalitat de Catalunya. Ha obtingut diversos premis d’interpretació. En l’àmbit del teatre musical, ha estat director musical i pianista de La vampira del Raval, d’Albert Guinovart, i de T’estimo, ets perfecte, ja et canviaré, de Joe di Pietro i Jimmy Roberts.
