Abstract

This paper presents an overview of Catalan terminology in the 20th century and up to the present. Firstly it explains how Catalan terminology work has been officially organised and sets out the reasons why this has been done through a coordinating centre involving various institutions and organisations. It then looks at work currently being done in terminology production and computerised terminography tools and also in teaching and research. Finally, it underlines the quantity of terminology knowledge and expertise that has been built up in the Catalan- speaking area.
