Ego Saÿt Mili, judeus Majoricarum (? - ca. 1391). Some insights, from a will, into life in the Jewish quarter of Ciutat de Mallorca Authors Margalida Bernat i Roca Societat Catalana d'Estudis Hebraics DOI: https://doi.org/10.2436/20.1006.01.86 Keywords: Kingdom of Mallorca, Ciutat de Mallorca, call (Jewish quarter), everyday life, 14th century: ca. 1391 Abstract This article is based on a document that has been known about for many years, the will of Saÿt Mili (1377). Despite the value of the will, only a very specific aspect of it, namely the creation of a hospital in the Jewish quarter of Ciutat de Mallorca, has ever been focused on. Here, we go back to the will to look more closely at information that has so far been largely ignored and try to link it with other data from a variety of sources. We then look to see what emerges from doing so, with the aim of shedding light on facets of everyday life in the Jewish quarter of Ciutat de Mallorca in the years immediately before the attack of 1391.
