The ontological basis of aesthetical experience

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to enquire into the nature of aesthetic experience, or expressed in another way, the perception of the pulchrum, from the point of view of the ontology of knowledge. The starting point of this investigation will not be the question into the principles a priori of aesthetic judgement, but the affirmation of a constituent relation between the intentional knowledge and the claritas of the spirit, which is the esse and the «heart» of personal subject.
