Abstract

This workpaper describes the distribution, towards ends of the 18th century (1775-1800), of the population that existed in the part of the Cerdanya that it remained in the Spanish State after the Agreement of the Pyrenees, as well as and its economic context, at a time that began to apply new ideas, especially in agricultural production, provoking occupational changes in a region with an increasing population, located in a not uniform way for numerous small villages and aggregations.
In order to do this work, it has begun this research with the compilation, analysis and synthesis of several existing documentary sources on the region, referring to the ends of the 18th century; complemented by the fieldwork, with walks and views on the same territory, analyzing and collecting names of people who experience lived in the first half of last century.
