Abstract

Tourism promotion within the Francophone context makes steadily increasing use of minority languages, from both the qualitative and quantitative standpoints. This article studies the main lines of use of the Corsican language within a purpose-made corpus of tourist texts on Corsica. In such a diverse field as tourism, in which many different subjects find a place, the multiple complex links between language and economy give rise to the most varied possibilities of use. Epilinguistic aspects and language marketing issues lead language through place names, commercial names, and educational, cultural and dysphoric issues.
