Corsican language and tourism promotion: Communicating identity Authors Carlo Girelli Keywords: sociolinguistics, Corsican language, linguistic analysis, tourism discourse, multilingualism Abstract Tourism promotion within the Francophone context makes steadily increasing use of minority languages, from both the qualitative and quantitative standpoints. This article studies the main lines of use of the Corsican language within a purpose-made corpus of tourist texts on Corsica. In such a diverse field as tourism, in which many different subjects find a place, the multiple complex links between language and economy give rise to the most varied possibilities of use.
