Abstract

The goal of this article is not to deal in great depth with this Regulation on the provision of food information to consumers, in particular, on nutritional information in labelling that is now mandatory in most cases; instead, the aim is to conduct a critical analysis on the differences between the new Regulation and legislation currently in force in the European Union. Likewise, this article seeks to compare the new European rules with the model followed in the United Stated of America. The purpose of this critical analysis is to highlight possible areas for future improvement within the legal framework in Europe.
