Abstract

The videogame has gained relevance in contemporary society and exerts an increasing impact on different fields (economic, cultural, social and individual). There are several indications that corroborate the current importance of videogames (the consumption and introduction data standing out among them) and that justify an increasing informative attention. The objective of this research is to determine the degree of specialization and the prominence that the information about videogames has achieved in the digital edition of the general-interest Spanish newspapers. Thus, in this paper, the presence of specialization levels or spaces (channels, special sites, supplements, sections), the visibility of this information, the average of impacts and the author profile are analysed.
