Abstract

The preservation of nature has been established in opposition to culture, as an exclusive binary relation of dependency, that has affected to the management of specific spaces. The (re)construction of natural spaces, besides their cultural and historical context, is an additional proof of the anthropic character of the concept of nature itself. The analysis of the case of Ternelles in Mallorca will allow us to emphasize, from a critical culturalist perspective, the cultural construction of the narrative of nature and the transformation from a territory integrated into a segregated space.
