Abstract

Throughout the eighteenth century, in Spain, the Military Corps of Engineers is responsible for countless jobs and is present in many areas. These technicians are one of the instruments that enable the achievement of many of the goals proposed by the government. One of them is the creation of new communities and also the interventions in existing cities, internal remodeling and creation of new districts. This paper proposes to focus on the creation of new districts, analyzing its graphical representation. In the surviving documents it is clear the treatment of the representation of new urban elements, the treatment of the old elements, of the existing city, and above all, the link between both of them and the concern to resolve the continuity of the city.
