Gender equality and inclusive language measures

In the current composition of the team, the editorial secretary (100%), 36% of the Editorial Committee members and 54% of the Scientific Committee members are women. Of the reviewers, 60% are women.

The selection of external reviewers of articles is based on thematic suitability and it is guaranteed that there is gender parity among the evaluators of each article or, alternatively, among the set of reviewers of the articles in the same issue.

In the linguistic review of the contents of the journal, the current rules in each language are applied, while respecting the options of explicit gender marking or inclusive language which the authors have incorporated. In this document, the unmarked forms in Romance languages (Spanish: autoreseditores y revisores o evaluadores; Catalan: autors, editors i revisors o avaluadors) are generally used to refer to all the people who perform these functions, regardless of their gender.

In communications between the editorial team and authors, reviewers and collaborators, personalized treatment is opted for, thus avoiding homogeneous solutions for groups diverse in gender.

Authors are encouraged to include sex/gender analyses in their articles. In fact, the gender perspective is taken into account in the reviews as an evaluative factor.
