Abstract

Competence development in schools: an experience gained through theatre. At any given time, an experience gained through theatre may mean one of many dif- ferent things: being an actor, a playwright, a spectator, a reader, a facilitator, etc. This paper refers to experiencing theatre through education. Theatre is a pedagogical tool and a learning scenario that fosters perception, understanding, communication and enrichment through processes, artistic productions and the variety of resulting realities. As such, theatre is a way of developing skills in an educational environment. Theatre can lead to integrated and cross-disciplinary learning, developing several aspects of different skills. Depending on the goal, this activity can be useful for developing one type of skill or another.
