Documentació històrica del sumoll-sumoi Authors Josep Maria Puiggròs i Jové Abstract La varietat de cep sumoll, fins a la primera meitat del segle XX, era una de les varietats de raïm negre més cultivades a Catalunya, especialment al Camp de Tarragona, al Penedès, al Vallès, a la Segarra, al Bages i en una part de la Conca de Barberà. A partir de la segona meitat del segle XX, va anar disminuint d'una manera espectacular fins a quedar-ne reduïda la superfície a unes 250 ha. Quan es pensava que la varietat arribaria a desaparèixer totalment, ha sorgit un moviment per recuperar el sumoll per part de diversos productors del Penedès, del Camp de Tarragona, del Bages i de l'Anoia, que han començat a fer un treball per a la millora i la comercialització de vins rosats i negres que tenen com a base el sumoll i també cava, tant en cupatges com en forma monovarietal. En aquesta comunicació presentem i comentem la documentació històrica que fins ara s'ha trobat d'aquesta varietat, que ens ajudarà en el coneixement del nostre patrimoni vitícola, que cal preservar i potenciar.
