Abstract

This paper presents the expansion of neo-latin languages form the year 300 to the Middle Ages, emphasizing the cases of the Hispanic languages and Catalan. It presents the territorial distribution, the factors that favored the linguistic fragmentation and the elements that struggled to maintain its official use.
