Abstract

Tourism is a key economic sector for Catalonia, which has been severely affected by coronavirus. This communication captures the thoughts generated by specialists in the study of tourism as a strategy for territorial economic development in the context of the crisis caused by the pandemic. The analysis explores the different impact that COVID- 19 had on the territory, the measures that have been adopted and the future challenges that this economic activity faces in front of new dynamics on the demand side, which requires new territorial strategies and policies.
