Localized a copy of the plan made by Francesc Macià for the sewerage project of Vilanova i la Geltrú

Abstract

In 1894, the City council of Vilanova i la Geltrú commissioned to Francesc Macià i Llussà the preparation of a general project of sewage. Previously, Macià had made a topographical and urban map of Vilanova, on which he could eventually plan with rigor the sewer network. There were textual references of this plane, but it was not located. Recently, in the Arxiu Comarcal del Garraf, I have identified a copy of the southern part of the map. The present note contextualizes the finding and explains some characteristics of the map.
