The presence of velar extension in anar, fer, veure and haver in the speech of young people from Manresa

Abstract

This study analyses the influence of certain external factors on one of the most characteristic morphophonological traits of the speech of young people in Manresa: some irregular verbs, such as anar, veure, fer and haver, present a velar segment /g/ between the root and the inflectional suffixes in the first person singular of the present indicative and in the first, second and third person singular and third person plural of the present subjunctive.
