Abstract

The Archive of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (Institute for Catalan Studies) has finished the ordering, classification and inventory of the documentary holdings of Estanislau Tomàs i Morera, a renowned industrial engineer and the first president of the Societat Catalana de Tecnologia (Catalan Society of Technology). Called the Estanislau Tomàs. Catalan Forge Holdings, this set of documents allows the exploration of Estanislau Tomàs’s academic research in the field of metallurgical engineering, and of his contributions within the sphere of the study and dissemination of the knowledge of the Catalan forge technique and the history of metallurgy in Catalonia.
