Competència en el coneixement i en la interacció amb el món físic Authors Antoni Poch i Comas Abstract Knowledge and interaction with the physical world competence. The author refers to the difficulties connected with the highly generalised introduction of real changes into the world of education. Attention is focused on in-service teacher training, understood to a great extent as an essential, unhurried and consistent reflection on day-to-day practice in the context of the classroom and schools. Acquisition of knowledge and interaction with the physical world, in any of its aspects, demands that we keep our eyes wide open to the reality of our environment and to its needs and problems, while trying to act positively within it by following the footsteps that the scientific and educational communities have left behind with the passage of time. Teachers should be peo- ple with a contagious passion for inquisitiveness, discovery, experimentation, knowl- edge, thorough work and cooperation; people who know how to deal with diversity and complexity in the sphere of children and youths, in our dynamic environment and in its scientific understanding.
