Abstract

We present some research on gender-based discrimination against teachers at public schools in the Balearic Islands. Through this study we will investigate the regulations that govern this psychosocial problem, analysing the current situation and how the plans for preventing health, security and labour risks are the best tool for detecting its influence and for minimising its effects. On this basis, we will determine if students behave differently in relation to teachers for gender-based reasons at public schools in the opinion of teachers, especially when there are verbal, physical or psychological conflicts. That is to say, we determine whether students discriminate teachers for gender-based reasons and then go on to analyse what the health, security and labour risk prevention plans do to counteract any problems deriving from this situation.
