Els Valors i el tractament dels arbres al Japó Authors Josep Gordi i Serrat Abstract The value and the treatment of trees in Japan This article analyzes the value that trees and forest has in Japanese culture. This analyses is based on the observation of the ways trees and forest are use treated in gardening, literature, and the arts as well as in religious practices and in celebration and other types of social events. In first place, we will introduce the climatic and forest characteristic, and its evolution in Japan. In second place, we will assess the role they have in different aspects of Japanese culture such, gardening, religion, the arts or literature.
