La Metropolitanització del territori català: una anàlisi a partir dels espais de vida de la població

Abstract

To carry out their daily activities, population moves for a more or less delimited territory, with which he establishes a certain type of linking. For this motive, the territorial behavior of the population is not due only to their assignment in the place of residence, which loses protagonism.
Thus, the article intends to overcome this static vision of the relationships between the population and the territory from the application of the concept of space of life, described like the portion of territory where the population carries out their daily activities. In this way, the aim is to draw the municipal space of life of the population resident in Catalonia from their usual mobility to identify the existence of functional areas, like an indirect indicator of the degree of metropolitanization of the Catalan territory.
