Les Transformacions dels assentaments a la plana de l'Alt Empordà: un estat de la qüestió

Abstract

This article aims to synthetize a considerable number of contributions about territorial dynamics and settlement transformations in the Alt Empordà plane. By means of these contributions, the attention will be focused on the evolution of traditional settlements, the expansion of sun and beach mass tourism in the late 1950s, which originated a urban development pattern based on a large consumption of territory, and on the last trends both about the touristic pattern renovation and about the changes of territorial dynamics in general, which have resulted in a new increase of the pressure, that has in turn given rise to the response of both the civil society and the administration.
