Globalització, mercats de treball i la transformació dels rols de les dones Authors Lourdes Benería Abstract Taking into account the complexity of the topic globalization, this paper focuses on some of the issues around womens work in relation to the global processes of production. In the first part, the author presents a historical review, starting in the 1970s, on the changes created by the globalization of production on womens work. In the second half, different kinds of analysis are discussed of these multidimensional transformations. Although none of these changes are uniform, they also present certain common characteristics that help us to better understand some of the observed changes. This article conclude by saying that it is not possible to generalize the response to globalization since in many cases presents certain ambiguity and some contradictions depending on circumstances of each particular case.
