Abstract On 29 October 2024, an extraordinary meteorological event occurred in the province of Valencia. Rainfall intensity was such that numerous Spanish records were broken for all accumulation intervals between 1 and 12 hours. In this article, a synoptic analysis of atmospheric dynamic structures, recorded precipitation, and the principal factors that led to the triggering and subsequent development of deep convection is presented. The article also includes descriptive radar mapping of the structure of the convective system that formed during the afternoon in the pre-coastal area of the province of Valencia.
