Abstract

Between 1867 and 1869, under the cadastral survey project designed by Francisco Coello, the Junta General de Estadística of Spain developed the survey of urban cartography of nine cities, located outside of the province of Madrid, three of them in the province of Cuenca: Cuenca, Huete and Valdolivas, whose maps are kept in the technical archive of the Instituto Geográfico Nacional. This paper studies the historical context in which the three cities are mapping, the mapped urban space, the chronology of the work
and the cartography that was drawn.
