Abstract

The present paper analyzes the role of the media during the influenza A outbreak in April and May of 2009. The author describes an unusual bewilderment concerning the new influenza bewilderment among diverse professional groups, not only the journalists covering the phenomenon. A call is made for more specialized journalists in this case, in science and medicine and rigorous adherence to professional deontological codes.
