Història de la comunicació i del periodisme Authors Daniel E. Jones Abstract In the 1980s a transition began from a prehistory of research to the scientific formulation of a history of communication in Valencia. This transition was influenced by the social perspective of the times: a group of professors in the Valencia universities understood the history of communication as a history of society itself and its organizationaccording to the axiom that without communication there is no society, and according to the principle that each social era has its own way of communicating, ever more advanced and complex as time goes by. Therefore, the enterprise of formulating a history of Valencian communication involved going beyond merely descriptive studies, catalogs, and repertoires of origins of material.
