Abstract

The large number of recent Valencian studies on cinema has led to so many publications that Valencia is considered an important source of publications on the subject. The present article focuses on the last three decades of Valencian publications on cinema. By describing the context underlying the establishment of various publishing platforms, with long cinematographic traditions, in Valencia during the 20th centuryfrom the birth of Compañía Industrial Film Español, S.A. (CIFESA) in the 1930s; to Cartelera Turia and the experience of publisher, Fernando Torres, in the years of political transition; to university journals of the presentthe author provides an overview of the diverse lines of study forming the content of the various books and journals of the period.
