Peer Review Process

The Revista Catalana de Pedagogia is published biannually, in May and November. The Editorial Team reserves the right to publish accepted articles in the most appropriate issue.

The Editorial Team will assess the work to be published after the following checks:

  • the appropriateness of the subject matter and the interest of the article in accordance with the editorial criteria of the journal
  • compliance with the formal presentation requirements of the journal.

The Editorial Team will communicate its decision regarding the initial evaluation to the authors. All manuscripts that meet these requirements will be submitted to the double-blind review system by at least two reviewers from outside the journal who are specialists in the article's subject.

Authors can follow the different parts of the process on an ad hoc basis. In the double-blind review phase, within a maximum of 90 days, the journal's Editorial Team will inform the authors of the reviewers' decision, which may be:

  • acceptance of the paper for publication
  • rejection of the work
  • proposal for modification and improvement, with specific indications, so that it can be reviewed again and, if appropriate, published.

Any reviewer comments will be made known to the Editorial Team and the authors if the reviewers consider it appropriate.

The journal's board reserves the right to accept or reject articles based on the external reports and introduce stylistic modifications or cut texts that exceed the permitted length, with the commitment to respect the original content.

The criteria on which the journal's Editorial Team bases its decision to accept or reject articles are as follows:

  • originality
  • topicality
  • relevance
  • methodological quality
  • presentation (organisation, logical coherence and narrative facility).
