Abstract This article relates the experience of a shared pedagogical proposal that focuses on topics such as School Culture, History of Education and Heritage through the analysis of audiovisual material. The experience is framed in the confinement circumstances experienced in spring of 2020. Therefore, both the planning and the implementation were carried out online. This initiative, the formative offer of the Museum – Laboratory of History of Education «Manuel Bartolomé Cossío» was expanded and received very positive feedback. The virtual activity also managed to change the perception of the participants on important historical-educational aspects. The results obtained reflect the innovative nature of the initiative. The fact of immersing oneself in the universe of moving images provides a powerful didactic tool to boost teachinglearning processes, as well as asserting the extraordinary characteristics of cinema to learn with ease. In addition, the initiative promotes a reflective and critical pedagogy, leading to a free discovery fostered through group discussion. Through the article, the importance of the audiovisual medium as a historiographic source for the analysis of the historical-educational heritage in order to respond to an extraordinary situation comes to light.
