The first Francoist actions against Pau Casals Authors Josep Maria Figueres Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona DOI: 10.2436/20.1001.01.242 Keywords: Pau Casals, repression, Francoism Abstract The work shows how the Francoist diplomatic apparatus monitored the public impact of Casals around the world throughout the period of the regimefrom the Civil War until its end. Thanks to the documentation of the Archive of the Ministry of External Affairs (MAE) conserved in the General Archive of the Administration (AGA), the author follows these steps that complement other archives that conserve yet another punitive action of the regime such as the Political Responsibilities Law. The study also provides new information about Casals and the press of the regime, as another method that contributed to the politics of intoxication and misinformation.
