State justice and feudal justice in Catalonia

Abstract

This work is divided into three parts. A brief summary is given in the first part about the presence of the history of law and justice in the articles and books of Ramon d’Abadal i de Vinyals. The second part, it is a research project known as JUCAME, dedicated to the collection and edition of Catalan documents of justice and conflict resolution of the IX-XII centuries. Which is accompanied by a brief information on the first works of research based on the JUCAME documentation, and especially on our own contributions devoted to studying the changes experienced by justice at that time. The third part, we study the functioning of county justice in the time of Count Ramon Berenguer I and Countess Almodis, in the 11th century, as a resource to acknowledge of feudal justice and better point of similarities and differences with the public justice of the previous stage.
