Abstract This article presents the evolution of Catalan nationalism in Lleida from 1875 to 1903. During this period, Catalan nationalism in Lleida remained within the cultural sphere and manifested itself through various associations. In the following paragraphs we analyse the evolution of these associations and the actions carried out by their main leaders, up to the time when cultural approaches were no longer enough and political action was undertaken.Keywords: Catalan nationalism, Unió Catalanista, Lo Tranquil Taller, Associació Catalanista, Lliga Regionalista, federalism.
