Abstract

The philosophy of Simone Weil (1909-1943) arouses increasing interest. While in a first stage the research aimed mostly at biographical issues, due to her exceptional vital experience, there have more recently been a growing number of works that aim to study her thought. However, we think that there is still little research on the internal evolution of Weil’s thought, paying attention to the problems that she wanted to solve and the internal reasons that forced her to reconsider some issues. The aim of this communication is precisely to analyse the internal reasons that led Simone Weil to reconsider the notion of revolution and forced her to rethink which political actions can be effective in order to fight against social oppression.

Keywords: Simone Weil, revolution, class struggle, oppression, struggle for power.
