Abstract

The context we look for to introduce certain mathematical subjects in an easier way is not always suitable andmay not have the expected results. This is the case with examples we find inmany textbookswhen talking about divisibility, since they do not take into account that the clustering of objects is not only of no interest to our students but probably of no use either. However, the properties of certain numbers and the ability of students to play with them can be used to open up ideas and propose ways of thinking that are not included in traditional problems. Thus, perfect, amicable and sociable numbers and some of their variants can be very good generators of mathematical reasoning.
