Com fer servir l’estadística com a eina STE(A)M Authors Lourdes Rodero de Lamo Abstract In 2010, Professor Pedro Delicado introduced a statistics competition from the Complutense University of Madrid. Originally, the aim of the competition was to promote statistics in secondary and high school to bring the discipline closer for these students. It soon proved that the competition went further, and many high school teachers soon realized the power of the tool and began to work in topics where other disciplines applied statistics as a multidisciplinary tool. In 2016 Professor Lourdes Rodero succeeded Pedro in the organization of the contest, who carried on the development of the event. Today this contest is being positioned as a STE(A)M tool for the use of statistics as an interdisciplinary tool in classrooms around the country. This paper will show examples of experiences of applying statistics as a STE(A)M tool that can serve as inspiration to apply them in the classroom by making learning statistics a fun and useful task when mixed with other disciplines.
