Targetes negabinàires Authors Sergio Belmonte Abstract Many of us are familiar with the number cards which use powers of two ´ or the binary system, if you wish ´ to determine a number between two given values. But it doesn't end there: one of the virtues of mathematics is that we can always take things further. And that is what we do in this paper, by expanding these cards with negative numbers. While magicians never reveal their tricks, finding out and explaining the reasons for things is one of the key motivations in mathematics, as is discovering models that can explain them.
