Peer Review Process

Treballs de la Societat Catalana de Geografia it is governed by the system of external and anonymous evaluation of articles. The Board sends to evaluate the works that it considers suitable for the articles section. The list of evaluators is published periodically.
The editorial board of the journal has the right:
 
a) To accept or reject the articles after receiving the external evaluation reports.
b) To place the work in the section of ‘Notes and documentation’.
c) To amend lightly the works in order to adapt them to the criteria and norms of the journal.
d) To request to the authors to reduce the text or do certain modifications. 
 
The acceptance or rejection by the editorial board of the works is based on the following criteria:
 
a) Originality 
b) Importance, opportunity and innovation 
c) Relevance and applicability of the results for the resolution of concrete geographical problems 
d) Significance for the advance of scientific geographical knowledge 
e) Reliability and scientific validity: methodological quality 
f) Presentation: good draft, organization (logical coherence) and graphical quality.
 
Once the process of evaluation is finished, TSCG will send to the first author of the paper the notification of acceptance or rejection of the publication of the work. Once the paper is accepted the author could apply for a certification that his/her work is in press. 
 
During the process of composition or final lay out, the authors will receive a pdf format of their article for a final review. 
 
Once published, the authorship will receive a copy of the journal. If between the authors of the work there is a member of the SCG they will be able to request up to 5 copies.
