Els conflictes territorials del sistema elèctric a Catalunya Authors Sergi Saladié Gil Abstract Territorial conflicts of electrical system in Catalonia. In Catalonia we find a high degree of social consensus on the need to implement systems of alternative power generation, to face up the rising number of levels of air pollution and radiation. During the last years different positions and views have emerged in the public debate related to the proliferation and implementation of different projects of power plants which are located especially in the southern regions of Catalonia, those that historically have focused more proposals for installation of power plants. In late 2008 they have 3 nuclear plants, 4 groups of thermal of combined cycle and 237 wind turbines, with a total of 5.306 MW, 62% of the total power installed in Catalonia. Consequently, since the late 90s, different social movements have appeared in these regions with strong discourses of rejection against the implementation of the imposed electric model by power companies and administrations.
