Abstract

This paper analyzes the meta-geographical construction of the region of Central Catalonia, a social constructed region, loaded with the interests and perceptions of the implied social agents. Central Catalonia has been built mostly on the meta-geography in a state-mosaic mode, and its analysis focuses on two of the aspects identified their construction. In first place a revision of the politic-administrative proposals of territorial delimitation is carried out, that could be summarized in two basic proposals: the longitudinal Manresa and Vic in two differentiated regions or the transversal one, in one single region. In second place, I present the existent simultaneous territorial interpretations of the Central Catalonia carried out from the proposals of delimitation, pinpointing the burdens of meaning on the perceptions of this particular territory.
